Youth employment advisory committee files, 1988-1991.

The youth employment advisory committee was created by the state legislature in 1988, part of a bill which also appropriated money for youth employment and training planning grants [Laws 1988 c686]. The grants were given to design programs that would provide employment and training to at-risk youth between the ages of 16 and 21 who had not finished high school or received a GED. The programs had to be projects that would result in the rehabilitation of housing for the homeless and low income families. The youth employment advisory committee helped in the review of the grant applications.
